While the trailer didn't give fans much to go on other than a sneak peek at the impending game's plot, Katsuhiro Harada (the game director for Tekken 7) revealed that the game was being built with Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. Despite not featuring any gameplay, the often overlooked narrative was heavily emphasized during the bite-sized teaser and it appears to once again pertain to the villainous antics of Heihachi Mishima - the iconic and reoccurring baddie that's always got some sort of scheme waiting in the rafters. The new game was announced during EVO 2014 (the world's largest fighting game tournament), in which a trailer was released for the upcoming fighter.
Given the notoriety of the property itself, it comes as no surprise that Bandai Namco has officially announced that a brand new installment, aptly titled Tekken 7, is currently in development. There are a number of longstanding fighting game franchises that manage to excite gamers with each and every iteration, and the beloved Tekken franchise is one such series that still has a strong following amongst casual and hardcore fight fans alike.
